The South West Benchmarking Club was established to undertake benchmarking of highway service metrics to enable South West Local Highway Authorities to identify good practice, share knowledge, implement more efficient and innovative ways of working. The core outputs for the group are:
- Annual benchmarking report, to include key highway service performance indicators, case studies and highway service charges for the South West LHAs, to support decision making.
- Agreed set of metrics and supporting methodology for measuring and comparing regional highway services.
- Regional liaison with any relevant national benchmarking groups.
- Forum for discussing relevant aspects of Incentive Questionnaire and similar DfT initiatives.
- Support for South West Local Highway Authorities to secure additional funding for highway service activities.
